Over the past 35+ years I’ve spent days on the road across Southern Africa and the world – watching landscapes quietly change people.
This year I’ve started turning those days into a 12โvolume series:
๐ผ ๐๐๐๐ง ๐๐ฃ ๐๐ค๐ฉ๐๐ค๐ฃ – 3๏ธโฃ6๏ธโฃ5๏ธโฃ ๐ฟ๐๐ฎ๐จ ๐๐ฃ ๐๐ค๐ช๐ฉ๐๐๐ง๐ฃ ๐ผ๐๐ง๐๐๐
One book per month. One chapter per day. Each chapter a single, living moment.
Some stories are from journeys with guests; others are from days alone on the road. All are real. No fiction. Just the world as I’ve seen it from the front seat, the stoep, the saddle, and the cockpit.
I’ve chosen to start with my favourite month – ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฉ๐๐ข๐๐๐ง (Volume 9), and several chapters are already drafted: whales, wildflowers, cliffs, rivers, horses, dunes, stone houses in Namibia, safaris, and more.
Over the months ahead I’ll share pieces of this work – chapter excerpts, images, and behindโtheโscenes notes – as the year on paper takes shape.
If you’d like to follow along as this book (and then the other 11) comes to life, stay tuned here. And if you’ve travelled with me before, you may one day recognise your morning, your river, your lion sighting in these pages.
