The vast, untouched wilderness of the Malilangwe Wildlife Reserve, where Pamushana is located, is rich in tribal history, and home to some of the country’s earliest instances of rock art.
Guests can visit some of the region’s 123 recorded rock art sites on foot, led by knowledgeable local field guides who are eager to share the origin stories of these incredible ancient etchings.
Our properties in Malilangwe are among Africa’s most remote, meaning stargazing here is a truly awe-inspiring experience. The Southern Hemisphere’s skies shift with the seasons, so there’s always something new to discover—though the famous Southern Cross remains visible year-round.
On the way back from evening game drives or cruises, our guides will pause and encourage you to take in the vast expanse of the cosmos, as they share their knowledge of the planets and constellations that fill it with beauty and light.

The organic shaped buildings of Singita Pamushana Lodge are reminiscent of Great Zimbabwe. Thick walls, meticulous thatching and incredibly detailed stonework lay the foundation for bold interiors that are in marked contrast to the surrounding landscape.
Game Drives at Malilangwe
The Malilangwe Wildlife Reserve is rich in ancient history and remains as pristine and untouched as it was thousands of years ago. Guests can explore the reserve on twice-daily game drives, uncovering its wonders and encountering its wildlife up close—learning about its biodiversity, ecology, and history from our knowledgeable guides and trackers along the way. These drives take place early in the morning and again in the evening.
We share the reserve with a wide variety of wildlife, meaning you’re likely to encounter leopards, lions, rhinos, buffalo, elephants, hyenas, hippos, cheetahs, and an abundance of birds and buck during your stay.
